De Ree Holland finds it important to improve social circumstances in the chain. For this purpose, De Ree Holland follows the ETI Base Code.

LAWS AND REGULATIONS

Complying with all applicable laws and regulations. If a law conflicts with a policy in this code, the law prevails. Alternatively, if a local custom or policy conflicts with this, the code prevails.

CONFLICTS OF INTEREST

A conflict of interest exists when a person's private or business interests interfere, or even appear to interfere, in any way whatsoever, with the interests of De Ree Holland.

COMPETITION AND HONEST BUSINESS PRACTICES

De Ree Holland puts honest business practices first. De Ree Holland seeks competitive advantages through performance and never through unethical or illegal business practices. Every employee must make an effort to respect the rights of stakeholders. No employee of De Ree Holland is allowed to take unfair advantage through manipulation, concealment, misuse of confidential information, misrepresentation or other business practices that are not in accordance with the policy of De Ree Holland. De Ree Holland prohibits bribery in favour of external or internal parties.

WORK ETHICS

De Ree Holland offers equal opportunities to all of its employees and qualified candidates for employment without taking their race, caste, religion, colour, descent, marital status, gender, sexual orientation, age, nationality, ethnic origin or disability into account.

Diversity and equality in the workplace as well as compliance with all local labour laws should be promoted. In all cases, De Ree Holland does not sell products or offers services that were made possible through the manufacture by or were performed by illegal workers, using child labour, forced labour or modern slavery or that violate international labour standards.

Employees are of an appropriate age and not under the local legal minimum age for work or mandatory education. Work is carried out on the basis of freely agreed and documented employment conditions and fair wages are paid to the employees in accordance with the Wholesale of Flower Bulbs collective labour agreement. All employees are free to exercise their rights to either participate in and/or join trade unions.

HEALTH AND SAFETY

De Ree Holland offers every employee a safe and healthy work environment. Every employee is responsible for maintaining a safe and healthy workplace for all employees. No form of physical, sexual, psychological or verbal harassment or abuse should be tolerated. The use of illegal drugs in the workplace will not be tolerated and is strictly prohibited. Employees are expected to work in a safe manner, free of the influences of alcohol, illegal drugs or controlled substances.

REGISTRATION, FINANCIAL CHECKS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

De Ree Holland requires an honest, accurate and timely registration and reporting of information in order to make responsible business decisions. De Ree Holland shall prepare and maintain its accounts in a fair and accurate manner, in accordance with the standards for annual accounts and financial reporting set forth in generally accepted guidelines, principles, standards, laws and regulations.

CONFIDENTIALITY

De Ree Holland protects the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information in accordance with applicable laws and regulations and contractual obligations. De Ree Holland guarantees to protect the personal data of customers, third parties and employees against infringement and to use it only for the purposes for which it was collected.

REPORTING OF ALL ILLEGAL OR UNETHICAL BEHAVIOUR

Employees are encouraged to talk to supervisors, managers or other appropriate staff about matters that they have observed such as behaviour which they consider illegal, unsafe, suspicious or in violation of safety or this Code of Conduct. De Ree Holland supports a culture of disclosure (whistleblower) without fear of reprisals against those who report actual or suspected violations. Employees are expected to cooperate in internal investigations of misconduct. This is why De Ree Holland has drawn up a Whistleblower Scheme.

SUSTAINABILITY

De Ree Holland strives to protect the environment and to manage all activities in an environmentally friendly way. In order to respect or exceed all applicable environmental laws and regulations in a responsible way, De Ree Holland expects all suppliers and/or business partners of De Ree Holland to strive to do the same.

PRODUCT SAFETY

De Ree Holland supplies safe and high-quality products. De Ree Holland ensures that product safety is the highest priority during the entire production process. De Ree Holland expects employees and suppliers of De Ree Holland and/or other stakeholders to comply with government regulations and De Ree Holland’s policy in terms of product safety, quality and procedures.
